What ether.fi Cash charged on 185 real purchases

This test is about fees. We wanted to know what ether.fi Cash actually takes when you pay with it, especially in other currencies, including costs that never appear on its fee page. So we checked every purchase on our own ether.fi Cash card, 21 Jun 2026 to 30 Sep 2026, against the mid-market rate, and put what we paid next to the advertised fees and the cashback we received.

How we worked it out

We check every purchase against that day's mid-market rate (the real exchange rate, with no markup) and report the typical cost in each currency. Every card gets at least a week of regular spending on the card first. How we test

  • Each tier has its own FX fee, so we split the results at the start of August, when our account moved from Core to Pinnacle.
  • On both tiers the measured cost is the tier's fee plus about 0.2% to 0.3% for Visa's exchange rate.
  • There were no USD or EUR purchases in the test, so the 0% on those currencies comes from ether.fi's published terms.

The rankings use each tier's published fee plus 0.3% for Visa's exchange rate: 1.8% on Core and 1.3% on Pinnacle, in line with what we measured.
