- US cardholders pay a 1% fee on foreign-currency and non-US-merchant purchases
Uphold Debit Card
- US Essential: 2% back in XRP with no card fee for the first 3 months after activation, up to $120 a month
- US Elite: 3% back on USD or stablecoin-funded spend (4% on crypto-funded spend) for the first 3 months after activation, up to $300 a month, for $99.99 a year
- US Elite charges no foreign transaction or ATM fees
- US cashback is a promotion: Uphold says rewards last 3 months after activation for cards activated since 1 January 2026, so the site counts 0% after that
- Cashback is capped: $120 a month on Essential, $300 on Elite, £100 in the UK
