Our research notes
Researched 2026-09-27 from the official Jupiter docs (docs.jup.ag Jupiter Card, Fees & Limits and Spend pages, read via search results, not opened directly), Jupiter's own X posts (Jupiter Global launch 2026-01-31; Jupiter Card in Jupiter Mobile 2026-03-05 with '1-1.8% FX on card spend'; cashback and referrals launch 2026-03-26) and reviews (Kardd, SpendNode). CASHBACK: the docs say 2% base, raised to 4% with a higher cap via referrals. The $100 monthly cashback cap and the 4%/$200 referral month come from the founder's tracker (citing the docs' Rewards & Referrals page) plus Kardd and SpendNode, MED confidence; verify the cap on the Rewards & Referrals page. The referral boost is excluded from the modelled tiers because it depends on recruiting 2 new cardholders every month. HISTORY: from about 26 March to 30 June 2026 a launch promotion paid 4% (cap $100/mo) rising to 5%, 8% and 10% at 20, 50 and 100 referrals; the current 2% terms took effect on 1 July 2026 (SpendNode, Kardd). Some reviews and the jupiter.global landing page still say 4% or 'up to 10%': stale. FX: the docs say 0% on USD, 1% on Rain-issued cards and 1.8% on DCS-issued cards; the jupiter.global landing page says the 0% fee 'applies to merchant transactions, including currency conversion', which conflicts with the docs and Jupiter's own launch post, so the docs figure is used. REGION SPLIT: DCS issues cards to residents of Australia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam; Rain issues everywhere else (Americas, Africa, Middle East, New Zealand and other APAC). Cashback is the same on both; only FX differs. The engine takes one FX rate per card, so fx.rate is 1.8% (the DCS rate, which covers Australia and most APAC users and is the less generous reading); Rain-issued users outside the US (Latin America, Africa, Middle East, New Zealand) actually pay 1%, so their kept rate here is understated by 0.8 points. US AVAILABILITY is unsettled: the docs list 31 states, the founder's tracker read 28, Kardd says 34, and one tutorial site says US residents were excluded from April 2026; verify before publishing US-specific copy. CUSTODY: the docs say deposits are converted to a USD balance that the card draws from, so it is modelled as custodial even though some reviews call it non-custodial. Apple Pay, Google Pay and 'no ATM' come from the tracker only (verify). Referral rewards for the new cardholder differ by source ($20 after $1,000 spend in 30 days per the tracker, $25 per an older landing page), so none is shown.
What's good and what to watch
Good
- 2% USDC cashback on general spend with no card or monthly fee
- 0% FX on USD payments, so US residents and USD merchants keep the full 2%
- Cashback is paid in USDC, not a volatile token, and can be moved to the card balance fee-free
- Stablecoin deposits from Solana, Sui, Arbitrum and Base are credited 1:1 with no deposit fee
- 4% (capped at $200) in any month after you refer 2 qualifying friends
Watch
- Cashback is capped at $100 a month, so the effective rate falls above $5,000 of monthly spend
- Non-USD spend costs 1.8% FX on DCS-issued cards (Australia and eight Asian markets) and 1% elsewhere, which eats most of the 2% for Australians
- Custodial: deposits become a USD balance held by the card issuer, not funds in your own wallet
- The cashback rate was halved on 1 July 2026, when the 4% launch promotion ended
- Physical cards are still rolling out; no EU, UK or Canada availability
