Our research notes
Pass 2, 27 Sep 2026: rates and fees verified against documents opened and saved on 27 Sep 2026. REWARDS (5X Reward Terms, last updated 19 May 2026, binding; Oobit FAQ): points on every Tap to Pay (card) payment at 1x to 5x points per US dollar by level, and 1,000 points = $1 in USDT outside the EEA or USDC in the EEA, so 0.1% (Level 1) to 0.5% (Level 5). Level is set by cumulative spend in a 90-day cycle: Level 2 from $250, Level 3 $500, Level 4 $1,000, Level 5 $1,500; the next cycle's level is set by the cycle just ended. From Level 2, stablecoin rewards of 5% on purchases paid in USDT or USDC, capped at $200 of spend; the FAQ says this cap is per calendar month and resets automatically (the terms do not state a period). Token rewards of 10% on purchases paid in OOB, capped at $10,000 of spend a month (not modelled: it needs buying and spending the volatile OOB token). MODELLING: the 90-day thresholds are converted to monthly spend (x 30.44 / 90, rounded up: $85, $170, $340, $510) and use the spend-threshold convention (requiresStake 1 plus qualifyingMonthlySpend). Each level plan stacks the 5% on the first $200 a month with that level's points rate (terms 4.3 treat asset rewards as in addition to points), and assumes the cardholder pays in USDT or USDC. A new user starts at Level 1 in the first 90-day cycle. Rewards can only be used for Oobit payments. FEES (Oobit Spend Card Terms, Third National via Rain, fee box headed 'Effective as of August 1st, 2025', live page 27 Sep 2026): transaction fee of $0.25 or 1%, whichever is higher, per transaction (modelled as conversionRate 0.01; the $0.25 minimum makes purchases under $25 cost more); foreign exchange fee on non-USD spend up to 1.5% (modelled at 1.5%, USD base, US free). Wayback captures of the same terms from Sep 2025 to 19 Apr 2026 listed FX up to 3% plus a cross-border fee up to 3%; the cut is recent and undated, and a June 2026 review test in Malaysia measured about 3.1% FX, so the FX figure is under review until a test purchase confirms it. The FAQ confirms the 1% fee (minimum $0.25) for all users and USD as the base currency. The US card terms are not published; US fees rest on the FAQ. REGIONS: FAQ lists 22 unsupported countries (no UK, EEA, Canadian or Australian exclusions); Oobit has UK, Canada and Australia card pages; US launch with Bakkt on 8 Dec 2025 (Oobit news). Oobit was not in ESMA's interim MiCA CASP register on 27 Sep 2026, so verify EU onboarding. CONFLICTS: the cashback page says USDT spend earns cashback in XAUT (wording from the Feb 2026 terms); the current terms say stablecoin rewards in USDT or USDC. Oobit's product page calls the card a credit card that uses your crypto as collateral, with no credit line; the type is set to credit to match. Aggregator claims of a 2% base rate do not appear in any Oobit document and are ignored.
